Rashida represents the third poorest congressional district in the country. She reminds her colleagues in Congress that the lives of her majority-Black residents matter and that we must consistently speak truth to power.

Whether it’s standing up to Big Polluters that poison our air, water, and soil, fighting back against police brutality toward Black and brown people, or demanding that the ultra-wealthy and corporations finally start paying their fair share in taxes so we can invest in our communities and our future―Rashida is fighting every day for us.

She has introduced legislation to replace lead drinking water pipes in homes and schools, to bring monthly cash payments to every U.S. household, to ban racist facial recognition technology from public housing facilities, to ensure low-wealth people can maintain and rebuild their homes after devastating floods, and so much more.

Rashida has fought for the rights and lives of Palestinians, opposing U.S. military aid to the apartheid Israeli government. And she’s been one of the strongest voices in Congress against the continual increases to our country’s massive, bloated military budget.
