On Monday, Congressman Greg Walden (District 2) announced he would not seek re-election. He has a strong pro-life voting record (supporting both the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act). 

Abortion rights supporters are saying his retirement clears a path for taking over the last congressional seat in Oregon not occupied by an abortion rights extremist.

Another seat under attack is Oregon State Senator Denyc Boles's in District 10. She has been a champion for Oregon's vulnerable since taking office as a representative and continues in the Senate.

Abortion rights activists told the Salem Reporter that Sen. Boles's support from Oregon Right to Life is "out of step with the Salem District." They are targeting her for defeat by pouring money into the race.
