Hey team,

Last week, President Biden participated in the 2021 UN Climate Conference (COP26), renewing American climate leadership on the world stage. After years of inaction by the Trump administration, this was truly a monumental moment for our country.

Despite Republican negligence on stopping climate change, Future Forum Democrats never stop fighting for initiatives to get us out of this global crisis. Here are just a few of the actions our members have taken:

Darren Soto (FL-09), the current chair of Future Forum PAC, continues to fight against new oil drilling and the dangers proposed plans present to the Florida Everglades Region. NO NEW OIL DRILLING!
Go Big, be bold, do good. That’s our founding member’s Eric Swalwell’s (CA-15) motto and he certainly means every single word. Last September, he introduced the Solar Energy Manufacturing for America Act to find alternative ways to energize all American households.
Since joining Congress in 2018, Lauren Underwood (IL-14) has fought for climate change solutions from the minute she was elected. One of the most important issues she has championed is the effects of climate change on maternal and mental health, co-sponsoring the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act, supporting efforts at identifying climate-risk zones for pregnant people.

And that’s just a few of the many initiatives our members tirelessly advocate for as they work on solutions to lessen the effects of climate change, both to our natural world and our physical and mental health.
