I’m writing to ask if you can help me kick-off our mid-month fundraising drive with a donation this morning. By the time it ends on Monday, we hope to have more than 10,000 donations.

Otherwise, let me explain why this drive is so important.

We received almost 2 million donations to my last campaign. I was very proud of that fact.

That support was a big part of why we won a close race. When we’re talking about 1 and 2 point margins, it all adds up.

Now, we’re in for another close race in 2022, and the stakes could not be higher. Our race was just moved from a Lean Democratic race to a Toss Up. So we’re going to need the same kind of grassroots fundraising power we had last campaign.

If we can do that, I think we’ll win again. But I’m going to be straight with you: If we don’t, we could be in trouble.

So these deadlines mean a lot. They are markers with goals we need to reach to stay on track. And since most of our donations come from emails like this, I have to ask:
