Not long ago, the Trump administration's own scientists confirmed that human-caused climate change is accelerating and leaving us with only a decade to drastically reduce carbon emissions before our planet experiences catastrophic consequences.

That's why I'm pushing hard for bold, decisive actions that will both combat climate change and turbocharge our green economy.

The science is clear, yet the White House and Congressional Republicans still want handouts for fossil fuel conglomerates, dirty energy companies, and other corporate polluters. But our grassroots movement is stepping up to say "No more!" Help me send a clear message by chipping in $3 before our end-of-month fundraising deadline.

Even now, as California burns, the administration is trying to move us backwards, rolling back air and water protections and making catastrophic weather more likely.

Meanwhile, I've been taking action and pushing for the right strategic innovations that will drive America's clean energy economy.

Just this week bipartisan legislation I drafted has been approved by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. This legislation allows federal funding to be used to help communities across the nation to maintain and build wastewater infrastructure. This funding makes bold moves to reduce human impacts on climate change. It requires utilities to maximize their energy efficiency potential, including reuse and recapture of methane. I have directed all six subcommittees under my jurisdiction to investigate ways to reduce carbon pollution. This is just the first step of many major actions on the transportation and infrastructure committee that will directly address climate change and fight for a clean energy future.

I've been clear for a long time that climate change is the most important and complex issue impacting humanity. I'm determined to find solutions that address the crisis and boost the economy.
But we need more action, more innovation, more investments, and a Congress and the White House willing to take the bold steps to save our planet. I won't back down until we've secured a safe, sustainable future for our environment, our children, and our families.
