Governor Hogan wrote an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal arguing that Republican strong performances this last week offer a model for building a national winning coalition. Just like Governor Hogan’s victories in 2014 and 2018, Governor-elect Youngkin was successful “by focusing on the issues that matter to voters” and offering “a hopeful and unifying message for the future.”
According to Governor Hogan, “America is on the wrong track, but the 2022 election can and should be a change in direction. If our election wins in 2014 and 2018 in Maryland, one of America’s bluest states, weren’t proof enough, Virginia and New Jersey demonstrated again that common-sense conservatives who focus on issues and solutions can compete and win anywhere. The country is hungry for leadership. The question is whether the Republican Party is willing and able to provide it. After last week, there is more reason to hope that the answer is yes.”
