Fellow Conservative,

The House and Senate were out of session this week on Capitol Hill, making it a slower week in the nation’s capital.

So we gathered activists in Orlando, Florida this weekend! We brought together our most dedicated activists—we call them Sentinels—for a weekend of great speakers and workshop sessions. Keep reading to find out more!

And if this sounds like something you want to be a part of, we’d love to have you. Become a Sentinel at HeritageAction.com/sentinel.

Over the weekend, Heritage Action hosted our National Sentinel Summit in Orlando, Florida!

It’s been an incredible few days in the Sunshine state. We’ve heard and will hear from some amazing speakers like Governor Ron DeSantis, Kayleigh McEnany and many others.

Besides these great speakers, our Sentinels participated in a variety of workshops designed to get them prepared and excited for the battles ahead.

Our team of experts walked them through how a bill ACTUALLY becomes a law and the inner workings of a Hill office. We also hosted workshops on poll worker training, fighting critical race theory in our schools, informative discussions on Biden’s disastrous economic agenda, and much more.

What’s a Sentinel? And how do I become one?

Simply put, Sentinels are our most dedicated activists. We––and the wider conservative movement––view Sentinels as the tip of the spear in the fight to achieve conservative victories in Washington.

The things our Sentinels do and have done make a huge difference on Capitol Hill, and our organization could not work as effectively without them.

Last week, President Biden aggressively denied media reports that the administration was considering paying $450,000 to illegal alien families that were separated at the border.

Biden said “$450,000 per person? Is that what you’re saying?’ the president said. ‘That’s not going to happen.’... ‘It’s not true.’”

At last, commonsense finally prevailed in the Biden administration––or so we thought...

A day after Biden made these comments, the White House’s principal deputy press secretary said that Biden was perfectly comfortable paying reparations to illegal aliens, just not at that amount––$450,000.

Okay… what amount would Biden agree to?

Well, just three days later, another White House advisor clarified the administration’s position even more.

That advisor, former Rep. Cedric Richmond, told media outlets that the administration would defer to the Justice Department saying “We don’t talk dollar amounts.”

This trajectory of statements from the White House over the span of four days reveals three very important, and very concerning facts:

  • Biden intuitively knows that paying $450,000 to illegal immigrants separated at the border is a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars––why else would he so vigorously deny the payments? Who’s really in charge?
  • The White House doesn’t care about the border crisis. Paying illegal immigrants this amount of money obviously incentivices more illegal immigration and is the last thing the government should do amid record breaking illegal entries into the United States.
  • Biden’s far-Left cronies in the Justice Department have enormous power. By deferring these payments to the Justice Department, Biden is allowing the radical Left appointees in the DOJ––like Merrick Garland and Vanita Gupta––to do what they wish with your taxpayer dollars.

This saga is just one more example of the Biden administration’s prioritizing illegal aliens and woke politics ahead of actual Americans.

As we reported last week in our Saturday Summary, the House passed the Left’s $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ package with the help of 13 Republicans who joined with Speaker Pelosi to pass this bill. We included this vote on our scorecard—see how your representative voted.

Just to remind you, the $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ package spends only 9% on real infrastructure like roads and bridges. Moreover, the Congressional Budget Office––Congress’ watchdog on fiscal policy––reported that the bill will add an additional $250 billion to the debt.

This bill is not what America wanted. It’s not what they were sold. It’s not much real infrastructure spending. But it’s a whole lot of new debt ($250 billion). A total betrayal of the American people.

Needless to say, anyone who claims to be a conservative should not have voted for this bill. Even worse, Republicans who voted for this bill pushed it over the finish line.

House Democrats only have a 8 member margin to reach a majority. Six House Democrats––the ‘Squad’––voted against the infrastructure package in order to get a vote on reconciliation. It was not certain Pelosi had the votes.

Then, 13 Republicans decided to bail out Nancy Pelosi and give life to Biden’s disastrous economic agenda. It’s unacceptable.

Here are the 13 that saved the Left’s reckless agenda:

  • Rep. Don Young (AK-01)
  • Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16)
  • Rep. Fred Upton (MI-06)
  • Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02)
  • Rep. Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02)
  • Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04)
  • Rep. Andrew Garbarino (NY-02)
  • Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11)
  • Rep. Tom Reed (NY-23)
  • Rep. John Katko (NY-24)
  • Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (OH-16)
  • Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01)
  • Rep. David McKinley (WV-01)

As you know, Biden’s vaccine mandate is unlawful and should be rejected by the courts.

In the meantime, we need to keep up the pressure on the Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) by publicly commenting on their new rule requiring employers to mandate vaccines (100 employees or more).

>>>TAKE ACTION: Comment on OSHA’s vaccine mandate!

Thank you for everything you do, and stay tuned for more updates!
