AROUND THE DISTRICT
7TH SPECIAL FORCES PURPLE HEART CEREMONY
Accompanied by his wife and children, Master Sgt. Ivan Morera Jr. was presented the Purple Heart in a ceremony at Camp “Bull” Simons this past Wednesday. The Purple Heart was presented for wounds sustained in combat in 2013, and is the oldest U.S. military decoration awarded to members of the armed forces who are wounded by an instrument of war. Master Sgt. Morera, I am extremely proud of your service and we are blessed that you are here with us. You are a true hero!
REPUBLICAN WOMEN OF OKALOOSA CO. FEDERATED LUNCHEON & NICEVILLE/VALPARAISO MONTHLY BREAKFAST
On Wednesday, I attended the 3rd Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon. I was honored to be a guest speaker at this event, where we honored Air Force, Army, Marines, and Navy Veterans. I also had the pleasure of connecting with many of my great constituents, where we showed our respect for all NW Florida veterans.
The same goes for the Niceville, Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, where I was able to connect with our great constituents of Northwest Florida!
WOMEN’S VETERANS MONUMENT UNVEILED
I was grateful to attend the ceremony in Okaloosa County, which hosted the unveiling of 8 new statues honoring veteran women throughout Northwest Florida’s history. This Veterans Day celebration had hundreds of attendees, including many active duty and our honorable veterans. It is important that we honor all veterans, men and women included! Here are the names of the 8 women who are forever honored and remembered:
-Margaret Corbin (Revolutionary War, Army) -Cathay Williams (Civil War, Army) -Lenah Higbee (World War I, Navy) -Jacqueline Cochran (World War II, Air Force Reserves) -Jonita Ruth Bonham – Bovée (Korean War, Army Air Corps / Air Force) -Sharon Ann Lane (Vietnam War, US Army Nurse Corps Reserve) -Leigh Ann Hester (Persian Gulf War, Army National Guard) -Naseema (War in Afghanistan, US Air Force)

13 RINOS AND 1 PELOSI-BIDEN SPENDING BILL

On Tuesday, I joined Steve Bannon’s War Room to discuss the very recent unraveling of the Republican Conference on the heels of last week’s infrastructure spending crisis. Thirteen Republicans decided to abandon the fundamental fiscal restraint that defines the GOP. Is this related to earmarks coming back into our legislative measures? It sure is!
Now that individual members’ districts can get earmarks for pet projects, that’s all that it seems to take to flip a weak Republican. The topline of H.R. 3684 is $1.2 Trillion. This socialist spending bill will add $256 billion to the deficit over the next 10 years, which is what makes me a proud No vote. Unfortunately, not all Republicans can say the same. They have bought into the swamp and now the Florida taxpayers will be funding both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for the bureaucrats in the northeast of the United States. What a shame. I will continue to push back against this unbridled spending and see to it that Republicans remain true to our values.

I also joined Stinchfield on Newsmax to discuss this “infrastructure” calamity. Rep. John Katko should be removed as the Republican lead on the Homeland Security committee because he is not a Republican. In fact, as I’ve mentioned, the 5 most important bills that the 117th Congress has voted on: 1) Impeachment; 2) Creating the J6 Committee; 3) Removing MTG from committees; 4) Contempt vote on Steve Bannon; and 5) Infrastructure, have defined who individual members really are. John Katko voted with Pelosi for all 5 of them.
