DEAR FRIENDS,
SHARK President Steve Hindi and Award-Winning Investigative Reporter
Duane Pohlman
Last night, WKRC aired Chief Investigative Reporter Duane Pohlman's
investigation of cockfighting and corruption in Ohio. Click here to see and comment. The investigation was prompted after James Newcomb and Shannon Clark viciously attacked Steve Hindi and Adam Fahnestock on
January 3, 2021, while they were investigating a cockfighting tip on the Newcomb's property. See article here.
While the Newcomb's claim they are not involved in cockfighting, undercover SHARK video from July 18, 2021, shows otherwise. See video here.
The Newcomb's watching a cockfight.
Duane made numerous attempts to discuss cockfighting with the Newcombs, but James Newcomb refused to speak with him and Beckie Newcomb denied the undercover cockfighting video showing their involvement.
Duane repeatedly called Lawrence County Sheriff Jeffery Lawless and Prosecutor Brigham Anderson to ask questions about the illegal cockfighting and lack of investigation, however, neither responded.

You may remember that on July 5th, 2020, Duane exposed rampant cockfighting in Kentucky and associated dangers including the potential spread of the raging Covid pandemic. Read article here. Dr. Ethan Taylor, a professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of North Carolina–Greensboro lists the other threats chickens pose: “Salmonella, listeria, mycobacteria, campylobacter,” he said, adding that some chickens also carry an avian coronavirus.
Tomorrow Saturday, November 13, 2021, some of SHARK's work will be featured in Carole Baskin's Cage Fight docuseries on Discovery+. Over the past several years, SHARK has been investigating and documenting the horrid conditions of the animals in the care of Joe Exotic and then later, Jeff and Lauren Lowe.
Tigers at Lowe Zoo
Carole Baskin's Cage Fight docuseries will document the investigation into the treatment of animals at the Lowe Zoo. Said Baskin: “This is a unique opportunity for audiences to come behind the scenes with us for an unfiltered look at how we expose the cub-petting exploiters and roadside zoos we feel are mistreating animals. This is our real-life work within a dangerous world, and viewers will see it comes with our people being threatened, guns pointed at us and the bad guys shooting at our drones.” See the trailer here.
When you donate to SHARK, the money goes to our effective and grueling investigations nationwide - not for fundraising or exorbitant executive salaries. Our Volunteer President Steve Hindi has never been paid while literally risking his life for the animals along with our other Investigators.
