For months, my Democratic colleagues in the House have worked to deliver on the President’s promise of a cleaner, more resilient, more equitable future for working families in Los Angeles and across the country. I have been clear in stating my belief that to do this, we need to pass both the Build Back Better Act and the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

Last week, I voted to advance the Build Back Better Act, and to pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill. At this moment, we are so close to delivering life-changing legislation for millions across the country.

Child Tax Credit Non-Filer Workshop

It is not too late to sign up for Child Tax Credit monthly payments!

Included in the American Rescue Plan is a revolutionary expanded Child Tax Credit that I fought hard to secure. This guaranteed monthly income will pay $250 per month for each child you have age 6-17 and $300 per month for each child up to five years old.

My office will be hosting an information session on the Child Tax Credit on Monday, November 15th, at 10:00 am PT at 123 S. Alvarado St., Los Angeles, CA 90057. The session will include special guests from Koreatown Youth + Community Center and Clínica Romero, who will explain the benefits of the Child Tax Credit and show people how to sign up for it using the online “Child Tax credit non-filer Sign-up Tool,” a simple, easy to use online form. The tool can be found on the IRS website here.

The Child Tax Credit has already made a transformative impact on so many families across the country. For Genny, a mother of five, the guaranteed monthly income has been life-changing. She's not the only one.

With all the news coming out from Capitol Hill last week, I'll be hosting another CA-34 Telephone Town Hall on Wednesday, November 17, at 6:30 pm PT! I'll be answering your questions on the recently passed infrastructure bill and the Build Back Better Act. I will also provide an update on my work in Congress, efforts to make the Child Tax Credit (CTC) permanent, combat climate change, and address our nation’s housing affordability challenges.
