The Kincade wildfire in Northern California rages on. Many residents, ordered to evacuate in the dead of night, took all the animals they could with them as fire forced them from their homes.

ASPCA teams are now conducting field search-and-rescue for animals still in danger , doing wellness checks for animals we find, and bringing food and water to those in need.

It's hard to imagine the fear and panic that animals are experiencing in this disaster—losing their way as smoke fills the air—with nowhere to turn for help.
