Trump’s NLRB has systematically rolled back workers’ rights to form unions.

Friend,

Under the Trump administration, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has systematically rolled back workers’ rights to form unions and collectively negotiate a fair return on our work.

Simply put, Donald Trump is not working for millions of working people. He’s undermining worker protections and implementing rules that side with big business over working people.

In a new EPI report, titled Unprecedented: The Trump NLRB’s attack on workers’ rights, we highlight how Trump’s NLRB has acted on 10 out of 10 items proposed by the Chamber of Commerce’s corporate action wish list.[1]

EPI board member and former NLRB Chair Wilma Liebman said:

“Every policy choice they have made creates obstacles to union representation, impedes collective bargaining, or otherwise favors employer interests. Viewed together, these decisions—issued at breakneck speed, without public input, and often without any party seeking to upset long settled precedent—reveal an intent to defy the law, its values, and its goals.”

Donate to EPI today to hold the Trump administration accountable for its repeated attacks on working families and to fight back through critical research and activism. ([link removed])

Trump is not working for people in struggling communities throughout the Midwest. He is not working for union workers looking for a boost in wages to support their families. Trump, pure and simple, is executing the wishes of corporate board rooms and he is fighting against the goals and best interests of working people throughout the United States.

EPI’s report details how Trump’s National Labor Relations Board has significantly weakened worker protections under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)—focusing its attention on undermining collective bargaining rights by giving employers more power to make unilateral changes without consulting with the union; stripping tens of thousands of student workers and Uber drivers of their right to organize under the NLRA; and narrowing the definition of “joint employer”—which makes it harder for temporary and contract workers to bargain with the firms that control their wages and working conditions.

Pitch in $5 or more today to fuel the research behind the movement for progressive economic change and to defend the rights of all working people. ([link removed])

The NLRB is designed as an independent agency charged with safeguarding the rights of workers to organize and engage in collective bargaining. Under the Trump administration, however, it has worked for far different goals—even going beyond the Chamber’s big business wish list—advancing additional measures that give employers more power, while stripping away workers’ rights.

Together, let’s join together to strengthen unions and raise the wages of all working people.

In solidarity,
