Dear friends,
Through the beautiful crisp autumn air and the leaves falling, most people think of football season or Halloween. As an Oregon State Senator, I think of Election Day!
This week we have the chance to stand up for our students across our region and support critical investment in our parks, trails, and open spaces.
In my Senate District, Portland Public Schools is asking voters to renew their local levy that supports over 800 teaching positions. In West Linn-Wilsonville School District, voters are being asked to “Vote Yes Twice” to support students, teachers, and facilities that are seismically safe and meet students’ learning needs.
Across our region, Metro is asking us to vote to support parks, investments in open spaces, and our walking and biking trail system.
All of these critical measures are estimated not to increase our tax rates – but they do provide critical funding that supports the quality of life in our region.
Ballots have been mailed and are due back by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5. Find a ballot drop box near you for Multnomah County, Washington County, or Clackamas County.
I encourage you to stand with me and make an investment in our future. Please vote yes for students and parks.
Sincerely,
Rob
