One of the questions we're often asked is: What separates Her Bold Move from EMILY's List or some of the other institutional feminist orgs? That’s a great question, and we’re here to lay it all out:

The biggest difference is that Her Bold Move is focused solely on shattering glass ceilings. We work to elect female candidates running for seats that have historically only been held by men, and unfortunately, there are hundreds of thousands of seats that still fit this description.

The other major difference is that we don't require candidates to have raised a certain amount of money before we begin our programs for them. Many institutional endorsers require candidates to have raised $300,000 and/or provide polling to show they can win – before they're even considered eligible for an endorsement. This can make for a tough catch-22 since endorsements and institutional support often lead to higher poll numbers and an easier time fundraising...

We understand why those are useful metrics when considering a candidate's odds of success, but this order of operations results in some incredible female candidates falling through the cracks. We are here to catch them.
