A Vision of Connectivity for the East

Sonora Passes Law for Wildlife Crossings

The Mexican state of Sonora now requires safe passages for animals be included in the planning of new road-building projects—a positive step forward in our efforts for wildlife-friendly crossings along Mexico's Highway 2. "It’s encouraging to see that legislators are inspired by the work that we’re doing, that they’re inspired by the rationale we’re bringing forward," said Mexico and Western Program Director Juan Carlos Bravo.

Advancing Legislation for Wildlife Corridors

Earlier this month, the Committee on Natural Resources of the U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing on the Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act of 2019. Wildlands Network has been championing this bill which, if passed into law, will channel unprecedented resources toward the protection of wildlife corridors nationwide.
