I want to circle back as I said I would a few days ago on our “Kids, We're Bankrupt and Didn’t Even Know It” trip across the country. Its purpose is worth highlighting and was summed up best in the Deseret News editorial below. There were a lot of articles, TV reports, radio hits and more that covered our drive, but I think this one very simply lays out what we are trying to do in this campaign.
This is indeed the central focus of our campaign, and it remains the glaring undiscussed issue of this presidential election cycle. We are walking our way into a crisis of immense proportions. I can't say it enough. And for those of you who join me in being concerned about many of the President’s authoritarian leanings, if he is in power when the financial crisis happens it will only give him more power and authority in our political system. Hardly a win for anyone...and it underscores how important it is that we all look for ways of raising this issue. This doesn't mean one has to eat bad fast-food for a week while driving across America, but we can all do our part in standing up for a return to common sense in our country.
In this vein, I would again ask for your help. It's important and whether with $100, $50 or $25, it all adds up.
Once again to do so you can contribute online at www.MarkSanford.com, text “Sanford2020” to 225-25, or by traditional mail at Sanford 2020, PO Box 593, Sullivans Island, SC 29482
Thank you for considering this . . . to those who have recently helped in our effort, again, thank you.
