Joe started Groundwork Project because he knows Democrats can’t reclaim the political map unless we start showing up in places typically overlooked by the left. He saw how the GOP’s long-term organizing and investment built them durable, local power and how they have continuously used that power to cause real harm — threatening reproductive choice, LGBTQ+ equality, worker’s rights… and democracy itself.
Democrats must fight back. That’s what Groundwork Project is all about.
That’s why we’re so excited to fill you in on who we selected as our first three partners from Alabama, Mississippi, and West Virginia. Each of these states has a rich history in labor organizing, the civil rights movement, and progressive activism. But while Republicans have poured investment and attention into these places, Democrats too often haven’t shown up. So the incredible activists, organizers, and organizations on the ground don’t get the platform and resources they deserve.
But before we reveal our new partners, we want to hear from you. Will you tell us what you’d like to know about our partners before we announce them?
There’s a lot to be frustrated about in the news lately, but these partners are giving us here at Groundwork hope. We can’t wait to share them with you!
