John, we didn’t want you to miss what happened last week. Justice Democrats in Congress were the only ones to stand up to the Democratic Party and put their full support behind progressive policies like climate action and Medicare expansion.

Subject: The Squad took a stand
John,
Last week, the Democratic caucus joined Republicans to pass an infrastructure bill AND risk the future of comprehensive climate action, universal pre-K, paid leave, and Medicare expansion. Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and the Squad refused to cave and stayed true to their commitment to protecting investments for working people.
Corporate Democrats spent months negotiating with the President and House leadership on the framework of the Build Back Better reconciliation bill, and then cut out popular, progressive policy proposals. Democrats just lost their one real bargaining chip, by succumbing to Republicans and passing the infrastructure bill without the Build Back Better Act.
Cori, Jamaal, Ayanna, AOC, Ilhan, and Rashida know this — which is why they courageously voted against House leadership and the rest of the Democratic caucus. Now, we need to show the establishment that we have Jamaal, Cori, and the Squad’s back.
Vote after vote, the Squad has shown that they won’t play political games and cave to corporate Democrats or obstructionists like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
Cori, Jamaal, and the Squad took a risk by taking a stand, and now risk being primaried by corporate Democrats backed by Republicans. We’ve seen this happen before to AOC, Ilhan, and Rashida — and need to make sure that their courage doesn’t come at a cost.
We must step up to show that we support Cori, Jamaal, and the Squad’s votes, and their continued fight for the people. Can you chip in $3 so we have the resources to protect the Squad? We need to ensure we keep Cori, Jamaal, and the Squad in Congress AND expand our JD coalition.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
