Friend,
Historic. That’s what comes to mind when I reflect on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that passed the House a week ago today.
This legislation will make long overdue investments in our communities, including the most significant upgrades to Amtrak and our roads and bridges in decades. In Pennsylvania that will look like:
✅ Upgrading & repairing 3,300 bridges and 7,500 miles of highway
✅ Modernizing our public transportation to the tune of $2.8 billion
✅ Ensuring access to clean drinking water by dedicating $1.4 billion to improve water systems
✅ Lowering energy costs by weatherizing PA homes and buildings
✅ Expanding access to broadband across the Commonwealth with $100 million worth of investment
Putting dollars back into our communities will benefit all Americans, and I’m encouraged that we were able to achieve this victory through bipartisan negotiation that centered on some of our country’s most pressing needs.
And while the challenges before us are great, so too are the opportunities; the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will help us address both head on. If you agree that we must make these critical investments now, will you add your name to mine in support of this historic legislation?
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mad
