I know we send you a lot of emails. But in just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to my re-election campaign. Please give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important to our chances.

Here is the truth:

In just a few days, our mid-month fundraising drive comes to an end. And when it does, we’re going to take stock of the ads running against us and the resources we need to fight back.

It’s no secret, we are a top target of the corporate special interests who will do and spend whatever it takes to defeat us. They spent millions against us in 2020, and they’re already doing it again in this election.

We won last time because we built the largest grassroots campaign Arizona has ever seen. That’s just a fact. We received millions of donations and ran an unprecedented volunteer effort.

But the dark money groups are already back, and that means we need to rebuild a grassroots campaign of similar size, or even larger, if we’re going to win again.

Right now, only about 10% of the people who gave in the last campaign have given to this one. So we have to pick up the pace, and this mid-month fundraising drive is an important marker. And that’s why it’s so important for me to ask:
