Friend: I had to make sure you didn't miss my earlier message about the House voting to hold Steve Bannon, a top ally and former strategist of Donald Trump, in contempt of Congress. Since that vote, the dominoes have continued to fall in the aftermath of the former president's attacks on our democracy: *Just this week, the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol issued subpoenas for former Trump officials and allies – including disgraced former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.*

From current Republican members of Congress to top former officials like Steve Bannon and Michael Flynn, we are inching closer and closer to full truth and accountability when it comes to the Trump-induced attack on our Capitol on Jan. 6.

But let me be clear, Friend: The Republican Party is consolidating around the former president and his corrupt allies. And as they try to protect him, they are relying on the assumption that Americans like you are not smart enough to follow the evidence and will look the other way.

I know you're not about to let Trump – and anybody involved in the Jan. 6 attack – off the hook. This team believes in truth and accountability, and I need your help in securing it. So please, keep speaking out. *Add your name if you believe criminal charges should be considered for Donald Trump and the members of his administration and Congress who aided Jan. 6 insurrectionists.*

Friend, there have been massive developments in the investigation into the Jan. 6 insurrection: The House has officially voted to hold Steve Bannon – former chief strategist to Donald Trump – in contempt of Congress.

The longtime Trump ally and purported architect of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol has thus far refused to testify before the committee or hand over documents that could uncover the full truth behind the deadly insurrection incited by the former president. Now, in a bipartisan vote, the House has paved the way for Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute Bannon on criminal charges.

Bannon's contempt of Congress is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Republican Party's involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. A bombshell new report also reveals that multiple Republican members of Congress were "intimately involved in planning both Trump's efforts to overturn his election loss and the Jan. 6 events that turned violent."

The names of Trump's alleged co-conspirators will likely not surprise you: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar, Mo Brooks, Madison Cawthorn, and Lauren Boebert, among others. Clearly, the soul of the Republican Party has been bought and paid for by the twice-impeached, corrupt former occupant of the White House. Soulless or not, anyone involved in the attack on our Capitol – an attack on our democracy itself – must be held accountable, from Donald Trump to Steve Bannon to any member of Congress.

Friend, the plain truth is this: The Republican Party is counting on Americans like you to look the other way. They are counting on you not to speak out so they can sweep all these wrongdoings under the rug. But I know you're not about to let that happen, which is why in light of even more revelations, I need your help to hold Steve Bannon, Donald Trump, and Republican members of Congress accountable.

Before midnight tonight, add your name to speak out at this critical moment: Should criminal charges be considered for Donald Trump, members of his administration, and members of Congress who aided Jan. 6 insurrectionists? Click if you agree – we need grassroots Democrats to speak out by the thousands.

Donald Trump and his associates' dangerous and anti-democratic behavior can't simply become a page in a history book. Severe actions require severe consequences. It's up to us to ensure accountability. Thank you again for taking action.

Dick
