More than 47 million turkeys are slaughtered for Thanksgiving in the U.S. every year. Almost all of these birds are raised in filthy sheds without enough space to carry out their natural behaviors. They’re bred to grow so large, so quickly, that many cannot support their own weight, resulting in lameness and leg deformities.

But factory farming hurts more than just animals—it pollutes our environment, threatens the livelihoods of more humane farmers and endangers the health of nearby communities and farm workers. This Thanksgiving, extend gratitude to exploited farm animals and workers by making more compassionate choices to keep factory farmed food off your table.

We also hope you will help us put a stop to the growth of factory farms by supporting the Farm System Reform Act (FSRA). This federal bill would phase out large factory farms by 2040, while providing assistance for farmers to switch to more humane and sustainable systems.
