This could be one of the Senate's most important votes on national
parks.

Charles "Chuck" Sams III is President Biden's choice to be the next
head of the National Park Service. The Senate Energy and Natural
Resources Committee unanimously approved his nomination -- now the
full Senate must take action.

As a leader in Tribal government and in the conservation community,
Chuck Sams has dealt with the need to care for dedicated staff, plan
for massive maintenance projects and manage public safety in the face
of a global pandemic. He has forged friendships and alliances between
local, Tribal and federal agencies to solve problems and protect
public lands.

Above all, Mr. Sams believes in -- and will uphold -- the values of
our national parks.

Please join me in calling on the Senate to quickly and confidently
vote YES on Chuck Sams' nomination to lead the National Park Service.

I met with Mr. Sams last month and I can tell you: He is the right
person to lead the National Park Service at this critical time.

healthy in the face of a changing climate.

- Bring positive change to the agency and help our national parks grow

Everything in Chuck Sams' history says he is ready to face these

Service has had a Senate-confirmed director. For the sake of our parks
