Hi John,
In the richest country on Earth, no one should be hungry, homeless, without healthcare, or in poverty. The planet shouldn’t be burning while do-nothing politicians take money from Chevron and give us only platitudes.
I don’t think this is such a radical position.
We have the money to solve all these problems. What we lack is the political will.
Yesterday was Veterans Day, and 37,000 veterans were homeless. The wealthy elite are so eager to send people to war but not to take care of them when they come back. Suddenly the money’s not there.
The wealthy elite are so eager to tell us we have money to bail them out, but when it comes to social spending...well, it’s time to tighten our belts. And by that, they mean tighten YOUR belt — never theirs. Because heaven forbid we tax the rich.
I’m not afraid to stand up to power — I helped get 200 shelter beds created in Tacoma through direct action.
In Congress, I want to combine my elected seat with direct action, because direct action gets the goods.
