Compete Everywhere

Last week I had the opportunity to keynote the Marion County Republican Party’s fall dinner. It was great to be in a room full of motivated Republicans who want to take back our capital city and improve the lives of Marion County residents. I know I’m not the only one who wakes up every morning to depressing news about the continued skyrocketing crime in Indianapolis. Or who walks around downtown and is confronted with aggressive panhandlers at the busiest street corners. Instead of addressing these issues, the Democrat-controlled City Council spends its time honoring circus clowns (yes, that’s true) and taking their political marching orders from DC Democrats. What’s a more pressing need for this city, fighting “climate change” or doing something about violent crime? I think I know how most Hoosiers of all political persuasions would answer.

Speaking to Marion County Republicans was also a reminder that we must compete everywhere in Indiana. Indianapolis is one of the few remaining deep blue portions of our state. But, as we learned from Glenn Youngkin’s upset victory in deep blue Virginia, Republicans can win in historically blue areas. We’ve proven this in Indiana by winning supermajorities in the legislature, 71 mayoral offices, and 88% of all county elected positions. We can’t, and won’t, give up on Marion County. The right leadership is in place to bring the county party back. It won’t happen automatically, or overnight, but working together, we can get this done and return Indianapolis to a city we’re all proud of.

Thanks
Kyle
