Dear John,

Today we honor and thank all of the men and women who have stood up to defend our great nation and advance the cause of liberty. America’s veterans have dedicated their lives to serving a cause larger than themselves, and we owe them a great debt of gratitude.

That spirit of service and sacrifice has defined our country since its founding, and it propels us as a people towards the more perfect union we strive to become. 

It’s not surprising that many of the Renewers who serve in Congress also served our nation in uniform, or that so many others in this movement have also proudly served. The drive to defend American freedom and create a better future is central to our movement. 

Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve. And God bless America.
