Perhaps it's just my personal pet peeve, but every time I pass by a church marquee or a billboard sign with the words, "God is in Control," I cringe. Nowhere in the Bible can you find the words, "God is in control."
Shortly after the 2020 elections, these signs seemed ubiquitous as an apparent way to console God-fearing Americans who view the Biden-Harris "election" as another step toward the coming Apocalypse. "God is in control," so don't worry. Just sit back and relax.
I cringe because God is in control only if we let Him be in control. God does not control the nations, even though he rules over them. "For dominion belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations." (Ps. 22:28)
There's a big difference between ruling over a nation and controlling them. A BIG difference.
