Our veterans need free IDs more than free coffee.

Dear Friends,

This Veterans Day, we seek to honor those who have served and sacrificed for our nation by launching our #FreeIDsForVets campaign.

People need government-issued photo ID to fully participate in society—IDs are needed to open a bank account, get a job that pays on the books, apply for/collect benefits (e.g., food stamps, disability), enroll oneself or one’s child in school, and so much more. 

Unfortunately, millions of people in the U.S. do not possess such an ID. This sadly includes many veterans. And while the cost of an ID varies from state to state, what’s consistent is the fact that most states do not provide free or reduced-fee IDs for veterans. 

That’s why in 2022, we'll be lobbying state legislatures to provide #FreeIDsForVets. It’s the least we can do for the people who’ve put it all on the line for our country.
