Today is Veterans day, a time to honor the millions of Americans who have served our country with dignity and pride.

Please take a moment with me to appreciate the tremendous sacrifices our veterans have made to ensure our safety and freedom. I hope you and your families join us on this important occasion in advocating for veterans all across the country.

It is my utmost priority to ensure veterans have proper access to social services and programs. My colleagues and I in Congress will continue to fight to expand programs veterans rely on most, including access to health care, financial resources, access to housing, and more.

It is also imperative to reflect on the invisible war millions of veterans endure with their mental health due to trauma and isolation during their service. I will continue to work for increased resources for mental health programs to serve this courageous community.

I hope you’ll take time out on this Veterans Day to honor veterans across the nation and thank them for what they’ve done to ensure our country’s security and freedom.
