Happy Veterans Day, John.

Today we take time to honor the bravery and selflessness of the service members who risked their lives to defend our nation.

Washington State is home to more than 500,000 veterans with nearly 50,000 residing in the 8th District. These are our friends, family, and neighbors who made personal sacrifices to keep us safe and protect our democracy, and we are forever indebted to them.

The challenges that our veterans face don't end when their service does -- many of them live with wounds that we cannot see. It's crucial that we not only support them while they're in the armed forces, but we continue to support them when they return home.

This Veterans Day, we must recommit ourselves to taking care of the people who put everything on the line to serve our country. From medical and mental health treatment to housing and education, I'm working to ensure our nation's veterans and their families have access to the resources and care they deserve.

To all the veterans here in the 8th and across the country: thank you for your service. I will continue to work on your behalf every day in Congress.

Thank you,

Kim
