In 2020, Jessica Cisneros only lost to corporate Democrat Henry Cuellar by 2,600 votes. We could have made up that difference if we had the money, support, and momentum just a bit earlier in that campaign. But we have a rematch coming in less than 100 days!

Henry Cuellar is the most conservative Democrat in the U.S. House. He voted against abortion protections. He voted against a pro-union organizing bill called the PRO Act. He goes on Fox News to fuel extreme right-wing rhetoric about immigrant ‘caravans.’ He opposes progressive policies like Medicare for All and action on climate change because he takes money from Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Wall Street.

We’re mounting a campaign against him again with Justice Democrat Jessica Cisneros — a progressive immigration attorney fighting for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal. If Jessica’s going to win this time, we need your help right now — more than 400 supporters have stepped up just in the last week.

When AOC, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman won their primaries, we helped them hire staff, develop organizing plans, and communications plans. We helped them build winning campaigns. And that’s what we’re doing for Jessica right now (and a slate of 4 other progressive primary challengers).

As challengers, AOC, Cori, and Jamaal were all outspent by the corporate incumbents in the primary. We still won. The thing is, nearly 90% of Congressional races are won by the candidate who spends more money. It’s just the reality. We know Cuellar has millions in the bank, and more $ to come from Exxon, private prison CEOs, and Wall Street. Now is the time we have to bring in a flood of support to try and close the spending gap with Cuellar.

We know the donor class and political establishment will do everything it can to re-elect Henry Cuellar. In 2020, Nancy Pelosi flew to South Texas to support Cuellar, even though he is AGAINST abortion rights, immigrant justice, union organizing, and climate action. Corporate Democrats will always protect corporate Democrats. That’s why we have to mount a campaign to close the money gap, and ensure Jessica wins this time around.
