Dear friends,
The men and women of our armed forces make invaluable sacrifices for our country. They put their lives on the line every day — not for personal gain, but so that we can enjoy our constitutional rights to life, to liberty, and to the pursuit of happiness.
Today, we honor the brave people who have chosen to serve our country. The current and past members of our Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Pennsylvania National Guard have undertaken a profound commitment to protect our country. We owe our troops, our veterans, and their families an unpayable debt of gratitude.
On this Veterans Day, let us remember our own duty to support the courageous people who have honored our country with the highest form of service. This means more than just a word of thanks — it means treating our veterans with compassion and understanding their unique set of needs as they transition from military to civilian life.
To the veterans here in Allegheny County, I want you to know that I see you, I hear you, and I am working for you every day.
In solidarity, Senator Lindsey Williams
