Friend,
In Texas, civil rights groups are fighting SB1 — an outrageous voting law that outright infringes on peoples' ability to cast their ballot, especially Black voters.
2021 has been one of the worst years for voting rights in recent history. Extremist lawmakers are using former President Trump's "Big Lie" that the 2020 election was stolen to implement dangerous, undemocratic voting restrictions, and Texas' new law is no exception.
Friend, we can't act like these laws don't raise the stakes, because they do. And we're sending immediate support to the civil rights groups who are battling voting restrictions in Texas. Will you sign our petition if you agree SB1 is unconstitutional?
Onward,
Stefanie

Friend, this is what we're up against:
Texas' new voting law — SB1 — prohibits extended early voting hours and drive-thru voting programs. Black voters are more likely than white voters to use these methods to cast their ballot, which means this law is a direct attack on our right to vote.
But SB1 doesn't stop there. It grants partisan poll watchers "free movement" within the polling place, making it easier for watchers to threaten and intimidate voters — especially Black voters.
Texas has so many voting restrictions that a study found it's the hardest place to vote in the country. At least six lawsuits are fighting SB1 in court, but until a verdict is reached, Texas voters are living under this draconian voter suppression law.
The Vote To Live Campaign is dedicated to expanding access to the ballot box, and we're sending our immediate support to the civil rights groups fighting SB1 in court. Add your name to our petition if you agree SB1 is unconstitutional.
In Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and other states across the country, extremist lawmakers have launched a national assault on voting rights. They're whipping up a hysteria that the 2020 election was "stolen," when in fact it was the most secure election in American history.
We are no stranger to politicians abusing their power to try and silence Black voters at the polls. And for the 2022 midterms, we will have to work harder than ever to register and empower Black voters.
If you're with us in the fight to tackle voter suppression, join us today in denouncing SB1. Add your name now if you agree SB1 is a direct violation of voting rights.
