Friend,
Today, from coast-to-coast across America, we celebrate Veterans
Day and the men and women who have served in the United States Armed
Forces.
At Restoration PAC, we are so grateful for the sacrifices that
these brave Americans make every single day so that we may sleep easy
at night.
From our nation's very founding, America has stood strong because
of the selflessness of her service members. As President George
Washington put it so eloquently during his farewell address to the
Continental Army:
“The unparalleled perseverance of
the armies of the United States, through almost every possible
suffering and discouragement for the space of eight long years, was
little short of a standing miracle.”
If America is to endure another 245 years, then we must resolve to
the same commitment to excellence that the men and women of our armed
forces show every single day.
Today also marks the centennial of the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier. Since November 11, 1921, the Tomb has provided a
final resting place for one of America’s unidentified World War I
service members, and Unknowns from later wars were added in 1958 and
1984.
You can learn more about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the
Arlington National Cemetery's website, by clicking here.
Today, and everyday, may we honor our heroes and remember that it
is because of their sacrifice that we have the privilege to be called
Americans.
May God bless our veterans,
Doug Truax
