John,

Today is Veteran’s Day, and I’m incredibly thankful for all of the selflessness of our veterans and the immense sacrifice our veterans and their families have made on behalf of our country.

As the voice for over 200,000 veterans in Illinois' 9th Congressional district, it is my utmost priority to ensure all veterans are treated with dignity and are properly cared for in our community.

I will continue to fight in Washington for necessary funding for VA programs as well as quality housing, food and child care, and my colleagues and I will continue to protect programs veterans rely on including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and SNAP. It is also imperative to bring awareness to the mental health challenges many face and advocate for further mental health resources and suicide prevention outreach.

My office is always open and eager to assist veterans in our district in accessing key resources and programs. We are here for you, and we thank you for your dedication to our country.
