It can appear that no matter where you look it’s us vs. them or them vs. us. And while there are many shades of grey, with misinformation and manipulation running rampant, it can make the climb towards equity seem hopeless.

The truth is that the only way to get there is together.

At PowerPAC, my coworkers and I are sometimes driven to do our work because we are angry at an election outcome or a scary piece of legislation that seems to send us backwards, but ultimately we show up every single day because we have great hope that the progressive values we believe in will someday help every single human being, no matter how they vote or where they come from.

We do what we do because we can imagine a United States of America. Not an America with red or blue states, but 50 states of grey: where us vs. them stops being something that divides communities or neighbors or family members — where red and blue states cease to exist because the land of purple mountains majesty is one of equity for WE the people. For ALL of us.
