Team, today is Veterans Day -- a time to honor U.S. military veterans for everything they have done and sacrificed to protect our nation’s freedom, values and interests around the world.

As such, our government has a duty to ensure veterans receive the care and benefits they deserve.

And as Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Committee in Congress, I'm so proud to be working every day to honor the work of our veterans and make sure that we as a country keep our promises to them.

That means ensuring veterans have access to healthcare, housing, and education opportunities, creating a special focus on veteran mental health and preventing veteran suicide, protecting veterans from being exploited by extremist groups, and so much more.

Today and always I am committed to supporting our veterans. I hope you’ll join me on this national holiday in paying respect to our brave veterans.
