John,

Whether you're putting the finishing touches on your kid's costume or stocking up on candy to hand out to other people's little goblins, we're willing to bet that Halloween is on your mind today.

But if you live in a part of town where the neighborhood design just isn't conducive to an onslaught of candy-crazed mini-pedestrians...well, you might just spend the whole night waiting for the doorbell to ring.

Today, we're bringing you the Strong Towns take on a classic urban design touchstone: the Trick-or0Treat test.

Ask yourself these six questions about your built environment—and then ask yourself what's the next, smallest thing you could do to make your neighborhood just a little bit stronger, on October 31st and every other day of the year.

Whether you live in a Halloween haven, or on a street where not even a single spooky little kid would dare to walk, we bet there's something you can do. And if you want to get more of your neighbors on board, join the Strong Towns movement now to help us spread the word.
