As a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee -- and more importantly, as an American -- keeping the promises we’ve made to our veterans is one of my top priorities. It’s why I worked tirelessly with folks on both sides of the aisle to establish the Garland VA Medical Center, which is now open and serving veterans in North Texas.

But John, we must do more than just thank our veterans -- we must serve them as well as they’ve served us. That means ensuring that veterans in North Texas and across the country get the benefits and resources they earned.
This summer, I was so proud that President Biden signed into law my bill authorizing the construction of VA facilities across the country, including a spinal cord injury center in Dallas. There is still so much work to be done on issues ranging from housing, support for veterans’ families and access to career transition services.
As long as I’m in Congress, I’ll be fighting for those who so bravely answered the call to serve our nation. Today, will you join me in thanking them by adding your name to my card?
