Folks,
There is no greater service than answering the call to defend our nation. Today, we pause to offer our profound gratitude for all those who have served our country, and we reflect on their many sacrifices.
As we mark Veterans Day, it is not only a time to thank our veterans for their service, but to acknowledge the debt we owe them for protecting us and preserving our freedoms.
I am grateful to the one million veterans in North Carolina who took the oath to defend us. We owe it to them to honor and thank them for their bravery — and make a commitment to stand with them in every way.
I've always believed that serving our veterans requires action, not just words. Truly honoring our servicemembers means making sure they have access to the best health care available, career training, transition services, higher education, and so much more.
That's why I will keep pushing to ensure that all of our veterans and their families receive the level of care, benefits, and opportunities worthy of their sacrifice.
To all the veterans in North Carolina, and across the country, and to the family members who supported them: thank you for your service and sacrifices for our nation — we owe you a debt that we cannot fully repay.
You've fought for us, and I will continue fighting for you.
Thanks,
Josh
