Today, our nation honors and celebrates all those who laid their lives on the line to protect our freedoms.

As a veteran myself, I know how much Veterans Day means to those who’ve served. A simple “thank you” is actually so much more. It’s an acknowledgment of all the burdens and scars veterans live with every day of the year:

The fellow veterans lost … the sacrifices made … the countless ways their lives were changed forever.
