Today on Veterans Day, we honor the past and present service members who've bravely served our country. Generations of Rhode Island service members and their families have sacrificed to protect our freedom and democracy.

Both of my grandfathers, Grandpa Louis and Grandpa Bob, were veterans who served our country in World War II.

We owe our veterans a profound debt of gratitude on Veterans Day and every day. They've stepped up to defend us, and despite their sacrifices, our country has not done nearly enough to support our veterans.

I'm committed to making sure every Rhode Island veteran has the resources and support they need when they return. That includes small business loans, housing assistance, medical and mental health care, and more.

To all Rhode Island veterans, those still serving, and their families: thank you for your service.
