Friends, 

Today is about honoring the brave service members who have sacrificed so much to protect our nation and our democracy.

While words of gratitude are important, it’s just as essential that we take care of those who’ve made the personal sacrifice to serve our country.

When veterans return home, they need help readjusting -- and we owe it to them to ease their transition back to civilian life. It is critical that we invest in veterans’ mental health, help them find jobs, and ensure they have access to affordable housing. This is just one part of the process to thank our veterans for everything they’ve done.

I support investing in our veterans just like they’ve invested in us.
