John,

This Veterans Day, we continue to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans. As we recognize our family and friends who have served, there remains  an ever present absence of those we have lost at home to suicide, most often with a firearm.

An estimated 17 veterans die by suicide every day and 12 by gun suicide. That’s why Brady and End Family Fire are proud to partner with veteran voices to remind us that service never stops.

We invite you to watch this powerful message from our veteran partners asking fellow veterans and their families to encourage all firearm owners to store their firearms securely.

And – if you can – please share this lifesaving message widely on social media.

You are not alone this Veterans Day. There are measures that we can take together to prevent firearm suicide. When we store all of our firearms securely – locked, unloaded and away from ammunition – we can provide the time and space that a person in crisis needs to get help, delaying access to highly lethal objects that can cause death and injury.

Just as the veterans we work with state, service never stops. Thank you for honoring all veterans today by taking life-saving measures to save the lives of your loved ones.
