Earlier this month, many charities, governments and organisations took part in a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger. World Hunger Day, on 16 October, also saw millions of people across the globe taking part in events to raise awareness.
Our Director of International Operations, Donald Mavunduse, shines a spotlight on mothers who are overcoming hunger, with support from UK aid. He explains why he believes the eradication of hunger is possible:
"The best way of tackling chronic malnutrition in children and young people is by upskilling and empowering mothers."
Read Donald's blog post to find out why, with your help, we believe hunger is not inevitable. And meet Mercy, who is living proof that with the right support, mothers in rural Africa can change their own futures and those of their families.
