Hi there,

We got it done. House Democrats have sent the most transformational U.S.
infrastructure package in decades to President Biden’s desk.

Since she came to Congress, Doris has been fighting for the modern
infrastructure Sacramento needs to prevent flooding, shorten commutes, make our
roads safer, and keep our economy growing. And last Friday, the House helped
secure that vision by passing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,
historic legislation that will support working families, and keep America
economically competitive in the 21st Century.

Doris fought hard to build on her track record of securing federal funding to
ensure the Sacramento region has the flood infrastructure it needs to stay safe
and prosperous. She worked with her colleagues to provide $2.5 billion in flood
protection funding that can help advance projects that are crucial for the
region like the West Sacramento Project, Natomas Basin levee improvements and
Yolo Bypass Study.

This bill also makes investments that will transform our transportation
system, deliver water pipes for clean drinking, expand broadband, and take on
the climate crisis -- and that all starts with investing in the American
workforce. To carry out the infrastructure projects made possible by this bill,
we’re going to need workers - a lot of them. That’s why the Infrastructure and
Jobs legislation creates millions of good-paying jobs. Jobs that can’t be
outsourced. Jobs that support domestic manufacturing, advance environmental
justice, and are located in our communities.

This bill represents significant progress, but Doris knows we have more work
to do to invest in the American people and build back for a more prosperous
future.

Doris needs your help to get the rest of the Build Back Better agenda across
the finish line to tackle the climate crisis, expand healthcare, and support
working families. Donate $10, $20, or $30 to Team Matsui today so she can
continue fighting for the people of Sacramento.
