While no Black woman has held the office of Governor in our nation's history, we have the incredible opportunity to change all of that next year.

Last year, a record number of women of color ran for office, but I know that’s just the beginning.

While I’m thrilled that Black women running for statewide offices are “having a moment”, I know we deserve more than a moment.

America is ready for Black women leadership AND America is ready for Black women leadership to become the norm.

As a Black woman running for governor in Iowa I see the barriers. And it is clear to me now more than ever that WE can overcome each and everyone of those barriers, together.
