Free public education is a fundamental right in this country. The Constitution requires that all kids be given equal educational opportunity no matter their race, ethnic background, religion, or sex, or whether they are rich or poor, citizen or non-citizen.

 

Betsy DeVos would like you to believe otherwise. She is back at it again, trying to buy her way into a for-profit voucher system that would give taxpayer money to private schools. 

 

Michiganders have already spoken on this issue, more than once. But apparently when you have billions of dollars, listening to parents, taxpayers, and voters is at the bottom of your list.
