Employing and Supporting Military Spouses Made Harder by Occupational Licensing Requirements ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Today, almost 1-in-4 jobs require an occupational license. This stifles innovation and entrepreneurial spirit and limits career opportunities for many individuals, including military spouses. If universal recognition of licenses is adopted by more states ([link removed]) , this could help many military spouses find employment in their trained profession as they travel to keep their families together.

** HOW TO TALK ABOUT
FREE SPEECH ON CAMPUS ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
* Freedom of speech is more than a legal concept. It’s a bedrock principle that allows the great diversity of America’s 330 million citizens, and their vastly different opinions, to flourish.
* The First Amendment protects all Americans from government suppression of speech. But a truly open society, where citizens can debate freely, requires more than parchment protections.

Higher Ed on Trial: Why Students Are Silenced Even With Free Speech Judicial Wins ([link removed])
* American universities, which once valued free inquiry and intellectual debate, are today in the midst of a free speech crisis.
* Despite victories for free speechhttps://iwf.org/blog/2810902/Two-Truths-and-a-Lie:-Free-Speech-&-Universitiesin federal courts, universities continue to maintain a shocking number of unconstitutional policies restricting the speech of their students, faculty, and invited guests.
* 91 percent of colleges and universities still receive yellow or red ratings from FIRE, which tracks unconstitutional policies like "speech zones" and "Bias Response Teams."
* 68 percent of students feel they have to self-censor on campus.
* Universities, particularly public universities which have constitutional obligations, should offer a place for open inquiry and robust debate.

** Target's Minimum Wage Hike Two Years Later ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Target employees thought they won big in the “Fight for Fifteen” in 2017 when the giant retailer announced that it would raise its minimum wage to $15 by 2020. But now employees report smaller paychecks. The left often assumes that minimum wage hikes occur in a vacuum, but there are lots of moving parts. According to Target employees: "They are working fewer hours and have lost some employment benefits as a result. Target only provides health insurance benefits to workers who average at least 30 hours of work a week."

** Zuckerberg Hearing Illustrates Big Doesn’t Mean Bad When It Comes to Facebook ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s trip to Capitol Hill underscored that threats to break up Big Tech are not just coming from Democratic candidates running for president, but also Congress. Facebook has been fighting back against the talk of regulation and antitrust action, and rightly so. Some of the motivation behind the push to break up companies is not principled but political. Big does not always mean bad, and Americans shouldn’t oppose successful companies based solely on anti-capitalist rhetoric or political motives.

** Capitalism Is the Best Way to Combat Climate Change ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
If you are more open-minded, there is a less drastic tool for addressing climate change that does not involve returning to medieval living conditions: capitalism. Nicolas Loris explains in the Daily Signal: "Truth be told, capitalism has helped cleanse our planet—improving living standards while protecting the environment. Rather than eliminate capitalism, policymakers need to unleash it."
