In her testimony, Carolyn shared the long and painful history of voter suppression in Georgia — dating back to the Jim Crow era tactics of literacy tests and grandfather clauses to today’s voter roll purges and exact match policies.

Things got worse this year. After Georgia had a record-breaking turnout during the 2020 general election, Republicans made us one of the first states to pass a voter suppression bill in response.
